American Sign Language

An introduction to the basic skills in production and comprehension of American Sign Language (ASL). Includes finger spelling and numbers. Develops conversational ability, culturally appropriate behaviors and exposes students to ASL grammar and Deaf Culture. The language of ASL will be taught using fun interactive games. The class will also learn a worship song in ASL to be performed at the end of semester performance, one in December and one in May.

Class Supplies Needed: a teachable attitude and willingness to try something new! Performance Attire: Black shirt and black pants or skirt Class times: Advancing Students: Tuesdays at 2:30-3:20 pm or Beginners: Thursdays at 5:30-6:20 pm Instructor: Brenda O'Keefe Cost $25 per month payable to the instructor, if registered with CFAF. Otherwise, cost is $50 per month. |
