Picture

Suzuki Style Strings

Great introductory class for students age 3 - 6. Repetition, games, songs, pattern recognition are all part of each class. Students will learn correct bow hold, the parts of the instrument, care of the instrument, proper violin placement in rest position and playing position, specific beginning rhythm patterns, basic bowing, proper left hand placement in rest position as well as playing position, the proper placement of the first, second and third fingers, and of course, the proper way to "Take a bow."

Ages 3-6
Instructor: Hedy Farley
Students must have an instrument the first day of class - rosin is recommended - the Suzuki Violin Book One is recommended - a shoulder rest fitted to your instrument is also recommended. Please bring a binder and pencil to class each week.

There will be 2 performances, one in December and one in May. Concert attire for the December performance is Christmas best, and for the May performance is a white shirt and black pants or skirt and black shoes.

A new class for K-2 students who would rather learn Ukulele than violin. This class meets at the same time as Suzuki Strings and is being taught by Sammi Hamilton.
