Beginning Strings
A class for students with no experience on an orchestral string instrument. Students will learn to care for, tune, and proficiently play one of the four orchestral string instruments: violin, viola, cello, or double bass. Orchestra students will also learn to read music as well as critically analyze the music they will be playing and listening to. A wide variety of music is explored, as well as theory, music history, and ear training. There are two performances per year, one in December and one in May.
